Job Summary
Senior Director of Manufacturing, Operations & Assembly at Blue Origin leading manufacturing, test, fabrication, and integration functions for space hardware. Oversees production operations (assembly, machine shop, heat treat, welding, component fabrication), test operations, and integration across multiple sites. Drives Lean manufacturing, Design for Manufacturability, root-cause analysis, quality, safety, and mission assurance; manages KPIs, budgets, staffing, and capital portfolios; partners with Program Management, Site Leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to meet production schedules and customer expectations; promotes continuous improvement and world-class manufacturing capabilities in support of rocket engines and spacecraft production programs. Requires 15+ years aerospace manufacturing experience and 5+ years in a senior leadership role; must be a U.S. citizen/national or eligible for U.S. work status.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 15+ years of progressive experience in aerospace manufacturing or related industry
- 5+ years in a senior leadership role managing managers and large cross-functional teams
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and capital projects at department/program level
- Strong quality mindset with expertise in root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies
- Experience with process definition, development, deployment, measurement, and continuous improvement
- Effective communicator at all levels including executive leadership
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident or eligible for permanent residency/defense-related considerations
