Director of Major Gifts

Job Summary
Director of Major Gifts responsible for leading donor engagement and major gift fundraising at Ruth Eckerd Hall. Build authentic relationships with high-capacity donors and prospects, cultivate and solicit gifts, and host exclusive experiences. Manage a portfolio of major donors, develop multi-year cultivation and solicitation plans, and expand the major gifts pipeline. Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer and Development Operations to shape proposals and donor communications; partner with the Annual Giving Manager to create donor recognition opportunities. Requires in-person donor engagement at Ruth Eckerd Hall, with responsibilities including events in the Dress Circle lounge, personalized stewardship, and timely acknowledgments. Must lead and collaborate across teams to meet fundraising targets, demonstrate strong communication, budgeting awareness, and the ability to manage confidential information; proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and CRM systems; capable of working with diverse stakeholders including high-net-worth individuals and boards. Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs and valid driver’s license for potential travel; background check and drug screen required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 5 years in fundraising with demonstrated success in relationship-based major gift fundraising
- Supervisory experience required
- Demonstrated experience in non-profit fundraising operations, communications, strategic planning, and resource management
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, board of directors, donors, sponsors, and other stakeholders
- Passion for the organization's mission and values
