Job Summary
Direct and supervise the overall maintenance operation and life safety compliance for assigned facilities, including heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and grounds systems. Schedule repairs, replacements, and new installations while managing inventory, requisitioning supplies, and overseeing outside contractors. Perform carpentry, painting, plastering, and snow removal duties as needed, ensuring all work adheres to safety rules, OSHA regulations, and resident privacy rights. Maintain records in the TELS preventative maintenance system, coordinate with administration and other departments to avoid service interruptions, and lead in-service programs and disaster drills. Drive company vehicles when required and participate in quality assurance and safety committee activities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in related areas of: physical plant, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and/or HVAC systems maintenance
- Demonstrated supervisory experience to include hiring, training, discharging, overseeing, scheduling departmental staff
- Extensive knowledge of Life Safety Codes and NFPA required
- Valid, current driver license in good standing
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with USTs preferred
- Familiarity with using computer programs to place orders, manage inventory, etc.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred
