Director of Maintenance

Job Summary
Plan and direct the maintenance program for assigned facilities, supervising repairs to heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems while managing grounds care, parking lots, and institutional equipment. Schedule maintenance, replacements, and new installations for machinery and power plants, overseeing outside contractors and maintaining records within the TELS preventative maintenance system. Orient and evaluate maintenance personnel, coordinate department functions to ensure uninterrupted resident care, and meet with administration to discuss structural and equipment needs. Maintain department costs within budget parameters, conduct disaster drills, and participate in safety committee activities while ensuring compliance with life safety codes and OSHA regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in related areas of: physical plant, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and/or HVAC systems maintenance
- Demonstrated supervisory experience to include hiring, training, discharging, overseeing, scheduling departmental staff
- Extensive knowledge of Life Safety Codes and NFPA required
- Valid, current driver license in good standing
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
Desired Qualifications
- experience with USTs preferred
- Familiarity with using computer programs to place orders, manage inventory, etc.
