Job Summary
Plan, direct, and supervise the overall maintenance program and life safety compliance for the facility, covering heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, grounds, and the power plant. Schedule repairs, replacements, and new installations while managing inventory, requisitioning supplies, and overseeing outside contractors. Orient, instruct, and evaluate maintenance personnel; coordinate departmental work to avoid interrupting resident care. Maintain records of all maintenance work and costs using the TELS system, submit monthly reports to administration, and participate in the Safety Committee and disaster drills. Ensure resident rights, privacy, and dignity are observed while maintaining department costs within budget parameters.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in related areas of: physical plant, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and/or HVAC systems maintenance
- Demonstrated supervisory experience to include hiring, training, discharging, overseeing, scheduling departmental staff
- Extensive knowledge of Life Safety Codes and NFPA required
- Valid, current driver license in good standing
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with USTs preferred
- Familiarity with using computer programs to place orders, manage inventory, etc.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred
