Job Summary
Plan and coordinate all Environmental Services functions to ensure an efficiently run hotel with minimal supervision. Monitor, schedule, and complete maintenance duties to keep the property clean, safe, and attractive. Lead emergency repairs for equipment breakdowns and execute aesthetic improvement plans including painting and structural fixes. Resolve contractor issues through negotiation and provide hands-on repairs as needed. Perform daily walk-around supervision of inside and outside areas to verify timely completion. Respond promptly to guest and vendor requests while maintaining a safe, secure environment free of hazards. Assist housekeeping with furniture and guest moves, and act as essential personnel during emergencies or inclement weather. Directly supervise Environmental Services staff, handling hiring, training, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions. Monitor monthly expenditures to ensure budget compliance and participate in mandatory trainings and meetings.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Two to four years related experience and/or training
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Knowledge of word processing software
- Knowledge of inventory software
- Knowledge of payroll systems
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
