Director of Maintenance

Job Summary
Direct and oversee maintenance operations for a community facility, ensuring preventative maintenance tasks are completed, repairs are addressed promptly, and facility systems (HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical) are kept in sound condition. Supervise maintenance and housekeeping staff, manage utility and equipment records, refurbish vacated apartments per approvals, maintain maintenance schedules and control facility-related costs within budget. Available on-call for emergencies and implement cost-effective improvements to the facility and grounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; some post high school education or training preferred
- Experience in a wide variety of trades (carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical)
- Five years of relevant experience preferred
- At least one year of supervisory or management experience preferred
- Strong leadership and motivational skills
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Able to move heavy equipment and perform physical tasks as needed
