Job Summary
Director of Logistics and Transportation to provide strategic leadership for transportation operations, freight brokerage, carrier management, and logistics network optimization across multiple business units within a food manufacturing and distribution organization. Oversee both asset-based transportation fleets and non-asset-based logistics networks, manage third-party providers, drive KPI development and continuous improvement, lead budgeting and P&L responsibilities, negotiate contracts with carriers and vendors, and develop a safety- and performance-driven team culture to achieve cost efficiency, on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, and scalable growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in a senior-level logistics, transportation, or supply chain leadership role within relevant industries
- Experience leading asset-based transportation operations and third-party logistics networks
- Strong budgets, capital expenditures, forecasting, and profit and loss management experience
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities of logistics and transportation teams
- Hands-on, results-driven leadership style with ability to support growth initiatives across multiple business units
- Experience with carrier management, freight brokerage, and capacity planning
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards
- Proven track record of driving operational excellence and cost reduction initiatives
- Contract negotiations with carriers and transportation partners
