Job Summary
Lead strategic growth in research services, archives, and student-centered initiatives while managing library operations, policy development, and budget planning. Oversee print and electronic resources, coordinate with IT for technology implementation, and supervise professional librarians and technical staff through annual professional development. Compile annual and triennial reports, maintain physical spaces, and ensure safety and security procedures. Develop relationships with faculty, college leadership, and external partners, while participating in local, regional, and national library organizations. Manage the College Archives and contribute to scholarly communication through publication and presentation.
Required Qualifications
- ALA-accredited Master's degree in Library Science
- Minimum of five years of experience in academic library administration and managing academic information resources with increasing levels or responsibilities
- Evidence of a sustained commitment to knowledge of innovation and technological development in academic librarianship
- Experience working with teaching faculty to develop effective library services and information resources
- Experience in supervision and personnel management of academic library professionals and technical staff
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including administrative and management experience in academic libraries with an emphasis on strategic planning, budget management, and staff supervision and development
- Knowledge of current issues and trends in scholarly communication, pedagogy, and librarianship such as copyright, plagiarism, intellectual freedom, technology, and assessment
- Experience in collection development and knowledge of library systems
