Job Summary
Lead and manage a comprehensive employee learning and development strategy that enhances the knowledge, skills, and performance of technical employees and people leaders across the organization. Provide strategic direction to Peterson University, oversee the operations of the regional training center in compliance with CAT standards, and direct the Technician Training Program. Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to hire Technical Trainers, manage structured training pathways, and design non-RDLC training centers for professional and leadership development. Conduct learning needs assessments, develop scalable learning frameworks, and drive continuous improvement of technical and soft skills programs. Monitor training budgets, evaluate program effectiveness using performance metrics, and establish partnerships with external providers and educational institutions. Travel up to 30% of the time to perform essential functions at Peterson stores and external stakeholder locations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited college in a related field such as Diesel Technology, Organizational Development, Adult Education and Training, Business Administration, or other closely related field
- minimum of seven (7) years of experience managing a technical training program
- Supervisory experience
- Experience successfully designing and accrediting adult education programs
- Must demonstrate strong knowledge of instructional design, adult learning theory, and the performance consulting process
- Must maintain a valid driver's license
- satisfactory driving record
- Travel away from base location up to 30% of the time
Desired Qualifications
- Masters degree in Adult Education preferred
- Experience working with employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement preferred
