Director of Land Survey

Job Summary
Direct land survey projects through the full project lifecycle, maintaining client contact. Lead and mentor field staff; prepare calculations and field preparations for crews; schedule field work; develop and implement survey field standards and QC; evaluate and procure field equipment; supervise onsite field activities; contribute to recruiting and evaluating new hires; coordinate with Leadership and Project Managers to drive project success. Proficient use of AutoCAD Civil 3D and survey software; strong leadership, communication, and organizational capabilities to manage multi-disciplinary teams on land development and municipal projects.
Required Qualifications
- Professional Land Surveyor licensure in Illinois or ability to obtain within 1 year
- 10-15 years of relevant experience in land development and municipal development projects
- Advanced knowledge of survey field procedures
- Advanced knowledge of survey equipment and software (Trimble a plus)
- Ability to evaluate field data and perform survey calculations in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Ability to oversee and manage a project team of field survey staff
- Verbal skills and organizational ability to communicate with project managers and staff
- Time management skills
