Job Summary
Director of Land Survey overseeing land survey projects from initiation through project cycle with client contact; produce survey-related projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D; mentor and oversee field staff; prepare calculations for field crews; schedule field work; implement survey field standards and QC; recommend field equipment purchases; verify field work accuracy; provide on-site supervision of field survey projects; assist with recruiting and evaluating new hires; communicate with Leadership and Project Managers on a regular basis.
Required Qualifications
- 10-15 years of relevant experience in land development (commercial, industrial, single-family, etc.) and municipal development projects
- Must possess the Professional Land Surveyor licensure in Illinois or ability to obtain within 1 year
- Advanced knowledge of survey field procedures
- Advanced knowledge of survey equipment and software (Trimble a plus)
- Ability to evaluate field data and perform survey calculations in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Ability to oversee and manage a project team of field survey staff
- Verbal skills and organizational ability to communicate with project managers and staff
- Time management skills
