Job Summary
Director of Land Development leads the land development function for the organization, directing acquisitions, planning, entitlement and development efforts; develops annual budgets and schedules for the Land department; manages and develops the land development team; aligns business plans with organizational objectives; builds relationships with state, county and city inspectors and officials to maximize productivity of development sites; prepares bid packages and negotiates land development contracts for the region; oversees site inspections, cost management, and compliance with regulations; reviews engineering drawings with emphasis on cost reductions; coordinates resolution of development issues affecting house construction; ensures subdivision appearance and progress according to plan and schedule; requires strong leadership, strategic planning, budgeting, coordination with multiple stakeholders, and knowledge of regulations and homebuilding processes.
