Director of Lab Services, Capital Choice Pathology Lab

Director of Laboratory Services for Capital Choice Pathology Lab responsible for overseeing histology, immunohistochemistry, and molecular technical services in compliance with CAP, state, and federal requirements; updating policies and documentation; optimizing workflows to increase throughput while ensuring high-quality, timely service; maintaining 24/7 histology, cytology, and immunohistochemical support; developing new tests; analyzing quality metrics per CQI and KPIs; overseeing corrective actions and translating data trends into improvements; leading training, onboarding, staff development, and performance targets; managing budgets and participation in contracts/RFPs; ensuring proficiency in LIS, EMR, and Microsoft tools; strong communication, critical thinking, and project management; willingness to travel within the local area (typically within 50-mile radius) with occasional overnight travel; required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, ASCP certification, and 5-10 years of management leadership in a pathology technical laboratory; preferred master’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related field.
