Director of International Accounting

Job Summary
Director of International Accounting responsible for the strategic and operational ownership of financial accounting across the company’s global entities. Drive international close, consolidation, statutory reporting, audits, and VAT/local regulatory compliance; lead process improvements and automation initiatives; bridge U.S. HQ and international subsidiaries to ensure global policy alignment and robust internal controls. Lead, mentor, and develop the international accounting team; manage third-party accountants and external auditors; partner with cross-functional leaders to align accounting insights with operations; maintain documented policies and procedures and research complex accounting implications.
Required Qualifications
- CPA (or equivalent) required
- Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles
- Proven experience in an audit firm (Big 4 preferred) and industry experience
- Prior experience working within an international company with a US Headquarters
- Expert knowledge of international VAT and international audits/compliance
- Passion for and experience driving automation adoption
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of taking ownership and driving results
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP and NL GAAP
- Extensive knowledge of ERP software (Workday, NetSuite, SAP, etc.) and advanced MS Excel
- Excellent communication skills
