Job Summary

Manage and expand the School's institutional giving strategy to secure over $1.5 million annually through relationships with 40+ foundations, corporate, and government donors. Identify prospects, cultivate tailored engagement strategies, and solicit gifts personally while stewarding long-term donor relationships. Conceive and submit persuasive proposals and reports for student life programming and scholarship initiatives. Oversee donor communication strategies, including acknowledgments, mailings, and e-blasts, and guide prospect solicitation by preparing research, talking points, and meeting briefings. Mentor and supervise one staff member, oversee tracking systems and donor records, and manage the department's expense budget. This full-time exempt role reports to the Chief Development and Marketing Officer, with administrative employees working in person four days per week. Evening and weekend hours are required for donor events.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of demonstrated success in institutional giving
  • knowledge of New York area funders
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • fluency in budgeting and data analysis
  • ability to manage time and projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven track record of securing institutional gifts at the $100,000+ level
  • Polished and professional demeanor, with the ability to speak on behalf of the School at events
  • Proficiency in Raiser's Edge or a similar donor database
  • Tasks might include some lifting, including heavy items that require use of carts
  • Evening and weekend hours required for donor events
