Job Summary
Director of Industrial Sales leading sales operations across Chicago and Indianapolis for power generation and related industrial equipment. Leads a team of outside sales reps, project engineers, and application engineers; accountable for revenue growth, setting quotas and performance metrics, managing margins and product mix, and fostering relationships with electrical contractors, general contractors, and industrial end users. Responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, collaborating with marketing on positioning, resolving customer issues, supporting collections with accounting, and traveling locally with occasional overnight stays to support teams and customers.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive sales leadership experience
- 2+ years of experience directly managing and developing sales teams
- Experience developing and executing sales strategies, quotas, and performance metrics
- Proven experience managing full sales cycle from planning through close
- Experience selling or supporting industrial equipment, power generation equipment, or related technical products
- Experience working with electrical contractors, general contractors, or industrial end users
- Ability to analyze sales data including margins, pricing, and gross profit
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and CRM/data entry systems
- Ability to travel within regional territories, including occasional overnight travel
