Job Summary

Develop recruitment and retention strategies, oversee screening and selection processes, and forecast staffing needs to ensure all teachers are highly qualified. Administer employment contracts, orientation programs, and performance appraisals while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Analyze wage and salary data to recommend compensation plans, manage the teacher salary schedule, and oversee health insurance and workers' compensation benefit programs. Monitor employee retention through data analysis and exit interviews, coordinate mediation for grievances, and manage the annual department budget. Direct department staff, provide training, and attend board meetings to present on HR initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or education
  • Knowledge of the selection, training, and supervision of personnel
  • Knowledge of wage and salary, benefits, and performance appraisal
  • Knowledge of school employment law, personnel law, and hearing procedures
  • Ability to implement policy and procedures
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and statistics
  • Ability to manage budget and personnel
  • Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
  • Five years successful administrative experience in human resources or public schools
