Job Summary
Director of Human Resources leading HR strategies across US and Canada; develop, lead and implement people strategies, integrate HR processes, and oversee compensation/benefits programs, leadership training, and employee relations. Responsibilities include ensuring regulatory compliance (DOL, BOLI, FLSA for US and provincial standards for Canada), managing payroll and retirement plan administration, driving leadership development and training across technical and administrative roles, conducting performance reviews and stay interviews, implementing HR policies, managing HR and payroll teams, handling employee relations investigations, and partnering with senior leadership to minimize turnover while fostering a strong, values-driven culture. The role requires advanced knowledge of HR processes, benefits administration (including 401k/RRSP), COBRA, and experience across US/Canada employment landscapes. Travel is 5-10% with a Hybrid work model in Winnipeg, MB, CA.
Required Qualifications
- 10 years’ HR experience in a generalist environment. 2+ in a leadership capacity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field
- Relevant HR certifications, such as PHR, or SHRM-CP ,.CHRP, CHRL, CHRE, or CPHR
- Functional understanding of financial statements and impacts/drivers of finances.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent, in addition to an HR degree
- 2 years’ additional experience in an active management or leadership role.
- Senior-level HR certifications or credentials, such as SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or CEBS
