Job Summary
Director of HR Compliance overseeing HR compliance programs for thyssenkrupp Materials NA (tkMNA) across 40+ states with 100+ locations in the US and 5 provinces/7 locations in Canada. Leads an HR Compliance team, identifies, monitors, and assesses HR compliance initiatives including HR investigations; develops policies and trainings; collaborates with internal counsel; interfaces with executives and HR leaders to align on high-risk/impact compliance. Key accountabilities include developing and implementing HR policies and procedures, conducting audits, monitoring compliance issues (discrimination, safety, wage/hour), creating risk management strategies, staying current with regulations, collaborating with legal and HQ COE teams, managing KPI reporting, overseeing background checks, drug testing, I-9 compliance, California Pay Data Reporting, and delivering training programs. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or related field, 5 years HR Compliance experience, 10 years HR experience with leadership, extensive regulatory knowledge, policy development experience, and strong communication and change-management skills. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or related field
- 5 years of experience in HR Compliance (preferably in a large company)
- 10 years of experience in Human Resources, including at least 3 years leading a multi functional team
- Extensive knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws
- Experience creating, maintaining, and implementing HR Policies and Procedures
- Ability to solve complex problems
- Strong business judgment skills
- Successful track record of leading and implementing enterprise scale HR compliance initiatives and change management
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities
- Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to work at all levels of the organization
- Ability to communicate with C-Suite in a concise and clear manner
- Ability to gain buy in and support for new initiatives
- Experience with California HR Compliance
- Masters in HR, Business Administration or JD degree
