Job Summary

Plan, lead, and direct nursing operations for the assigned community's health center, ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local standards through daily observation, coaching, and rigorous documentation. Coordinate all care provided by the health care team to deliver high-quality services, overseeing resident care planning, admissions, discharge planning, and continuity of care. Guide and mentor team members in delivering clinical care within a non-institutionalized environment, while monitoring performance, managing staffing standards, and driving process efficiency. Lead the selection and onboarding of new hires, facilitate ongoing training, and collaborate with project teams on quality assurance, infection control, and budget compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa
  • Prior experience in nursing administration within a geriatric setting
  • Three to five years of previous leadership experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of all applicable state and federal regulations
  • Knowledge of quality assurance
  • Knowledge of compliance
  • Knowledge of clinical modeling
  • Knowledge of social modeling
  • Knowledge of nursing practices
  • Knowledge of medical practices
  • Knowledge of medical procedures
  • Ability to actively advocate and model resident-directed care within the health center environment
  • Passion to act as a champion for change within the industry
  • Ability to lead others through change
  • Ability to make decisions that lead toward new approaches and ways of thinking
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other internal resources such as other Directors of Health Services
  • Ability to work collaboratively with external resources, including state and federal resources
  • Ability to stay abreast of current information
  • Ability to proactively prepare for future services and/or trends within the industry
  • Full and complete confidentiality of resident, client, team and business information
  • Ability to organize work
  • Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities

  • Successful completion of a pre-hire health assessment
