Job Summary
Director of Golf leads three 18-hole championship courses at Ford’s Colony Country Club, driving overall golf operations, tournament/outing sales, merchandising, staff development, and member engagement. The role manages a 40+ person golf department, oversees tee sheet and pace-of-play strategy, budget forecasting and financial reporting, and contributes to long-range planning and cross-department collaboration with agronomy, F&B, and membership. PGA member in good standing and proven leadership in high-volume golf operations with outside play and tournament sales are required.
Required Qualifications
- PGA of America Member in good standing, required
- Demonstrated success in high volume golf operations, ideally 50,000 plus annual rounds or multi course environments
- Proven track record in outside play, tournament, and outing sales
- Strong leadership experience with teams of 25 or more
- Merchandising and inventory management with P and L accountability
- Familiarity with industry standard tee sheet, POS, and golf operations software
- Service driven mindset that works equally well for members and outside guests
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to build trust and alignment across departments, corporate partners, and ownership
