Job Summary
Oversee all finance operations including payroll, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls while delivering accurate financial reports to leadership. Develop annual operating budgets and achieve revenue and profit targets through rigorous accounting diligence and expenditure controls. Conduct monthly forecasting of staff costs and expenses, review financial statements to correct issues, and approve expenses across all departments. Manage performance appraisals for management staff, identify substandard performance, and implement corrective or disciplinary measures. Lead sales efforts by reviewing room rates, productivity, and group contracts, while visiting key account contacts to drive business growth.
Required Qualifications
- A four-year college degree (accounting preferred) or equivalent education/experience
- five to ten years of employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s)
- knowledge of all hotel accounting functions performed by the subordinate reporting directly or indirectly
- advanced knowledge of the accounting, finance and hospitality professions
- ability to analyze activities or information involving some original data manipulation or interpretation to arrive at logical conclusions
- limited lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying up to 15-20 lbs
- limited bending/kneeling required when arranging supplies or equipment
- limited mobility between offices and departments
- No continuous standing, climbing or driving
- Excellent hearing required to train and interact with management and associates
- Excellent vision required to read reports, computer, etc
- Work inside 95% of work period
