Job Summary
The Director of Finance will lead and oversee all financial operations, accounting functions, and financial strategy initiatives for the company. This role partners with executive leadership to ensure financial integrity, regulatory compliance (FAR, CAS, DCAA), and long-term planning while balancing product development, manufacturing efficiency, and IRAD investments. Responsibilities include directing budgeting, FP&A, cost accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, ERP transitions, pricing strategies, and collaboration across Sales, Products, Engineering, QA, and Manufacturing. The role involves external liaison with auditors and government partners, mentoring finance staff, and driving process improvements to support growth and scalability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including leadership responsibility
- Expertise in manufacturing accounting, product-based business models, and project-based cost accounting principles
- Significant experience in government contracting finance and accounting environments
- Strong knowledge of FAR, CAS, DCAA compliance requirements, and government contractor accounting practices
- Demonstrated experience leading finance teams and partnering with executive leadership
- Experience supporting organizations with complex cross-functional operations involving product development, engineering, manufacturing, and sales
- Advanced financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning capabilities
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate financial data into operational and strategic recommendations
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
- Experience implementing and improving financial systems, controls, and processes
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting critical deadlines
- Eligible for U.S. Security Clearance
