Job Summary
Review and sign off on all financial statements, forecasts, cash flows, and balance sheets while ensuring P&L accuracy through effective close management. Create the annual operating budget, produce accurate forecasts to enable operational reaction to business changes, and manage property working capital in accordance with brand SOPs and owner requirements. Ensure compliance with USALI, GAAP, and company policies; lead internal and external audits; and coordinate responses to governmental agencies. Collaborate with Regional Directors of Finance and the Vice President - Accounting to discuss best practices and recruit finance team members. Coach direct reports, establish clear expectations, and provide necessary training for growth. Work flexible hours based on business needs including midweek and weekend days.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 8+ years' experience in finance or accounting
- Ability to regularly move and lift up to 25 pounds at a time
- Ability to walk the property frequently
- Ability to move up and down stairs regularly
- Ability to use repetitive manual dexterity, such as typing
- Ability to bend, stretch, and reach frequently, including above head, and repetitively
- Ability to visibly survey documents and property areas clearly
- Ability to view a digital computer/tablet screen for extended periods, up to 8 hours
- Ability to communicate and exchange information effectively, often in a public/group setting
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to complete a satisfactory background check
- Ability to perform assigned tasks, operate equipment, and complete job duties in a safe manner
- Available and willing to work flexible hours based on business needs including midweek and weekend days
Desired Qualifications
- hotel finance/accounting experience
- Experience in a high-growth, fast-paced, multi-unit hospitality (food & beverage or hotel) environment
- Experience in working with Profit Sword (or other Budgeting and Planning enterprise-level software) and Enterprise Resource Planning/Accounting platforms
- Experience developing financial forecasting, budgets, cash flow forecasting and the preparation of financial reporting and analysis
- Proficiency in hotel management systems, Microsoft Office Suite and OPERA cloud
