Job Summary
Director of Finance leads financial operations for Mission Action, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, reporting to the Executive Director and Board, and coordinating with external accounting providers. The role supervises a six-person finance team, drives compliance with financial laws and funder requirements, supports grant proposals and renewals, manages audits and Form 990, maintains financial systems and dashboards, and partners with program and development staff to ensure sound financial stewardship and strategic planning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in finance, accounting, or a related function within a nonprofit organization
- At least 3 years in a senior leadership or director-level role
- CPA or comparable advanced financial credential preferred
