Job Summary
Act as the Chief Business Officer to the general manager, evaluating the financial impact on business decisions and managing cash flow, receivables, and deposits. Monitor hotel revenues, expenses, and capital planning while ensuring compliance with all regulatory licenses, leases, and operational taxes. Coordinate forecasts and budgets with department heads, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and conduct surprise payroll audits bi-annually. Direct the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports, including revenue and labor analysis, to identify variances and implement improvement strategies. Maintain internal controls across purchasing, cash handling, and inventories while overseeing training and development for finance staff.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 8 years of related progressive experience in hotel Accounting and/or Finance
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
- Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc., from disparate sources and consider, adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests
- Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions
- Must be able to prioritize departmental functions in order to meet due dates and deadlines
- Must maintain regular attendance in compliance with Crescent Hotels & Resorts standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
- Must maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the professional attire and nametag when working
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds of force occasionally
