Job Summary
Directs general accounting and financial operations including accounts payable, financial and statistical reporting, cash receipting, financial counseling, and financial planning/administration. Responsible for control over disbursement of funds; assists CFO with Medicare/Medicaid cost reports, budgeting, surveys, and financial analysis. Hires and trains new finance office staff; ensures regulatory compliance. Provides on-site leadership of finance staff; prepares monthly financial statements for CFO review; assists with third-party reports and audits; responds to requests from regulators; hands-on leader; works collaboratively with healthcare team; trains accounting staff. Combines healthcare finance expertise with leadership to deliver accurate financial management and strategic planning within LifeCare Medical Center.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 5 years of experience, healthcare preferred
- Certified Public Accountant strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting
- Experience leading a team
