Job Summary
Director of Finance leading RMTA's financial operations with a budget exceeding $20 million, supervising a four-person accounting team, and serving as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, reporting, internal controls, annual audit coordination, bond issuance and debt compliance, investment/risk management, presenting financial performance to the Board, ensuring regulatory compliance with governmental accounting standards, and optimizing financial systems across multiple cost centers. Requires extensive public-sector finance experience; CPA strongly preferred and MBA/MPA preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and ERP/Excel skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Master’s degree (MBA or MPA) preferred
- CPA strongly preferred
- Experience in public sector finance, bond indebtedness, and governmental accounting preferred
- 8+ years of progressively responsible financial and accounting leadership experience
- Demonstrated supervisory experience managing accounting teams
- Experience with ERP systems (Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred)
- Advanced Excel proficiency and strong presentation skills
