Job Summary
Director of Finance responsible for owning accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, payroll/time-keeping, and audits while overseeing day-to-day operations including contracts administration, HR/admin, and supportive growth activities (recruiting, pipeline tracking, offer conversations). Role requires strong financial acumen, advanced Excel/modeling, and ability to communicate insights to the Board; based in the DC/Northern Virginia area with relocation flexibility.
Required Qualifications
- 6 years of experience in accounting
- strong understanding of financial statement preparation
- multi-entity consolidation
- GAAP compliance
- Experience in public accounting preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven ability to identify and address data anomalies
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial insights to finance leaders
- Experience leading or supporting financial audits and meeting tax requirements
- Enthusiasm to continue to scale an organization
- Energized by a high-growth environment and opportunity for increased responsibility
- Comfortable with ambiguity
- Ability to communicate complex information at varying levels of detail
- Spirit of continuous improvement to implement new processes
- Willingness to relocate or live in DC/Northern Virginia area
