Job Summary
Director of Finance leads the hospital's financial management, overseeing budgeting, audits (internal, external, regulatory), financial reporting, cost management, and strategic financial initiatives. Acts as department spokesperson on fiscal matters, coordinates with auditors and Medicare officials, ensures timely month-end close and accurate reporting, and drives opportunities to reduce operating costs and increase revenues. Requires strong leadership, analytical and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and PeopleSoft, and deep knowledge of healthcare accounting, budgeting, and financial modeling.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting
- Master's degree preferred
- 3+ years of applicable healthcare financial management experience, including operational involvement and/or project management
- 5+ hospital accounting experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
- Knowledge of database networks and other financial resources/software, including PeopleSoft
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills
- GAAP familiarity
- Experience with revenue cycle concepts
