Job Summary
Ensure strong financial management within a robust control environment by leading all elements related to balance sheets, P&L, cash management, and capital. Manage the finance relationship with operations, head office, and the owner while providing accurate accounting records and financial reports for the hotel. Lead the planning and forecasting process to ensure financial plans align with strategic objectives, and proactively support the General Manager in hotel strategic planning. Manage the formulation, review, and approval process for budgeting. Lead and develop a high-quality finance team, focusing on succession planning, continuous training, and performance motivation. Optimize systems to improve efficiency and eliminate non-value-adding tasks. This role supports the opening of The Hoxton, Hamburg's second German location, which includes 188 bedrooms, a lobby bar, rooftop restaurant, and The Apartment event space.
Required Qualifications
- 5 plus years of hotel finance experience
- Strong knowledge and experience of operating requirements from a financial and legal perspective on German financial requirements
- Technical skill, with a strong understanding of compliance requirements, best practice hotel operations, finance function set up and standard systems
- A balance between a methodical and process-driven approach and flexibility and creativity when it comes to meeting deadlines and finding solutions
