Job Summary
Director of Finance blends hands-on financial oversight with forward-looking analysis, supporting both day-to-day operations and longer-term strategic initiatives. The Director of Finance will work closely with the Managing Director and department leaders to strengthen financial processes, improve visibility into performance, and ensure the property operates efficiently and sustainably. This position also required presenting financial data and interpretation to the ownership. Key responsibilities include overseeing accounting functions (GL, A/P, payroll), ensuring timely financial statements, maintaining internal controls, coordinating audits and tax filings, budgeting and forecasting, developing financial models, variance analysis, supporting department heads, evaluating cost structures, strategic support for capital investments, cash management and banking relationships, and leading the accounting team with cross-functional collaboration. Preferred qualifications include hospitality/related industry experience, capital-project budgeting, Opera or similar systems, and fluency in English.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5-10 years of progressive experience in a Director of Finance or equivalent senior financial leadership role at a large resort or hospitality property within the Middle East
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration, or professional certification (CA, CPA, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated expertise in financial compliance, regulatory requirements, and audit management
- Proven experience with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting in a complex operational environment
- Strong proficiency in financial systems, accounting software, and data analysis tools
- Excellent understanding of internal controls, risk management, and financial governance frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop accounting teams while fostering a culture of accountability and accuracy
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to senior leadership and ownership
