Job Summary
Director of Field Engineering leads construction administration, contract management, safety oversight, and project inspection for large and complex capital projects supporting EMWD’s potable water, wastewater, and recycled water systems. Reports to the Senior Director of Engineering and oversees field engineering, construction management, and inspection programs to ensure safe, efficient delivery in compliance with District standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has deep experience in construction administration, safety, inspection, and contract oversight, and demonstrates collaborative leadership, effective communication with executives, staff, contractors, and the public, and a strong safety culture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field
- ten years of progressively responsible experience in the design, construction, and inspection of large, complex water and wastewater systems
- five years in a management capacity
- Professional Civil Engineer registration in California and/or CCM certification
- valid California driver’s license
