Job Summary
Oversee daily museum facility operations, including exhibit spaces, administrative offices, and mechanical rooms, while managing HVAC, water filtration, and electrical systems to ensure safety and efficiency. Direct the Facilities and HVAC teams, coordinate long-term and short-term projects, and supervise contractors for major repairs and renovations. Develop facility budgets, manage service agreements, and recommend sustainability improvements to support collections preservation and energy efficiency. Ensure compliance with all building codes and safety regulations while collaborating cross-departmentally for exhibitions and seasonal events. Requires a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- 8 years of experience in building operations or mechanical engineering
- 5 years of supervisory experience
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings as needed
- Must be able to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
- Experience in museums or related non-profit organizations preferred
