Job Summary
Directs facilities management for a resort, overseeing MP&E systems across Birdwood Mansion and Central Laundry. Leads the Engineering Department, mentoring staff to maintain high performance and professional growth. Establishes preventative maintenance programs for equipment, systems, guestrooms, public areas, and general tasks. Allocates work orders, monitors for timely completion and quality. Promotes safety programs and ensures regulatory compliance. Coordinates capital improvement projects to improve efficiency and guest experience. Manages outside contractors, vendor relations, and contract negotiations; oversees budgeting and cost control with safety and environmental compliance. Maintains historic property integrity while balancing modern operational needs. Oversees Central Laundry operations, including industrial equipment and infrastructure, ensuring production demands, quality, safety, and sustainability goals. Plans maintenance schedules and equipment replacement for Birdwood Mansion and Central Laundry; monitors energy, water, and waste-reduction initiatives. Collaborates with resort leadership and events teams to support weddings and events, ensuring facility readiness and rapid response to operational needs. Ensures compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards related to historic properties, laundry operations, and resort facilities. Develops long-term asset management strategies for Birdwood Mansion, Central Laundry, and the broader resort campus. Requirements include proven hospitality facilities management experience, strong MP&E knowledge, leadership and communication skills, and preferred technical certifications or related degrees.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities management, preferably within a hospitality or resort environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to facilities management.
- Technical certifications or degrees in facilities management, engineering, or related fields are preferred.
