Job Summary
Guide transformational change initiatives and develop high-performing teams while overseeing engineering teams responsible for capital projects, facilities, automation, validation, and maintenance activities. Manage significant capital investments and support continuous improvement to ensure reliable production output through effective facility and equipment management. Develop and implement technical strategies that ensure operational excellence while meeting regulatory requirements and driving business growth. Work closely with site leadership and cross-functional partners, interacting with customers, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders. Requires 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech manufacturing, ability to travel up to 40%, and proficiency in English.
Required Qualifications
- Expertise in GMP manufacturing processes, facilities systems, and regulatory compliance (FDA, EMA)
- Strong track record leading large capital projects ($25M+) and managing engineering budgets
- Experience with automation systems, digital transformation, and manufacturing technology innovation
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic engineering initiatives
- Strong understanding of validation, qualification, and commissioning requirements
- Proven experience managing complex projects and cross-functional teams
- Strong stakeholder management and customer relationship building skills
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to support operational excellence and continuous improvement
- Experience working in matrix organizations
- Ability to travel up to 40% as required
- Advanced Degree and 10 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 12 years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech manufacturing or related regulated industry
- Proficiency in English
