Job Summary
Provide day-to-day leadership for the ASMS Maintenance Department by prioritizing work orders, establishing operational standards, and overseeing routine preventive maintenance across academic buildings, residence halls, and laboratories. Manage HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems while tracking project schedules, budgets, and compliance for renovations and capital improvements. Serve as the primary contact for facility-related emergencies, including after-hours calls and crisis planning, while maintaining accurate records, managing vendor contracts, and implementing energy efficiency strategies. Work a day shift with flexibility for evenings, nights, weekends, and an on-call rotation to support a 24/7 campus environment.
Required Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience managing a diverse maintenance team
- Comprehensive knowledge of building systems, mechanical equipment, and preventive maintenance practices
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and campus-wide initiatives
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and adapt to the dynamic needs of a residential academic environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR)
- Must be able to work a day shift on-site, with flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends, and an on-call rotation to meet the demands of a 24/7 campus environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform routine maintenance and inspection duties, including walking, standing, climbing, bending, and operating tools and equipment across the campus
