Job Summary
Director of Explosives Manufacturing to oversee the energetics plant scale-up and lead the execution of large, complex defense programs focused on production of HMX, RDX, and other energetics. Accountable for program performance across scope, schedule, cost, risk, and customer satisfaction; leads integrated program teams, interfaces with customers and stakeholders; develops detailed program plans, milestones, and metrics; coordinates with R&D for business case development; establishes shop-floor goals aligned with IBP/QBR forecasts; mentors cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, finance, and supply chain; ensures regulatory and contractual compliance (ITAR, DFARS, FAR); supports proposal development, capture activities, and long-range growth; travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 15 years of experience managing energetic explosives manufacturing facilities/plants (Construction and/or Production Operations)
- Experience managing rolling 12-18 month production schedules for pricing new business, internal financial forecasts, headcount forecasts
- RBA process for existing products, firm, follow-on
- Experience managing large, complex programs within defense or government contracting
- Knowledge of ITAR, DFARS, FAR
- Experience in CAM or EVMS
- Experience in manufacturing with production processes, quality control, and Lean Manufacturing
- Experience leading cross-functional, matrixed teams
- HMX and/or RDX production operations experience
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Preferred qualifications include Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
- PMP or equivalent project management certification
- EVMS experience
- Experience supporting capture, proposal development, or program growth initiatives
- Strong executive-level communication and presentation experience
- Travel may be required
