Director of Equity and Culture

Job Summary
Director will lead and implement Wellness, Learning and Development, Internship and Fellowship programming, partnering with the VP to build infrastructure that supports staff wellness, engagement, and belonging. Responsibilities include developing and executing equity, culture, and talent initiatives; managing the Equity & Culture team; executing bi-annual culture and climate surveys; shaping organization-wide learning and development plans; coordinating leadership trainings; planning and delivering internal/external events; and collaborating across departments to foster an inclusive, high-performing workplace. The role requires strong project management, people leadership, energy for values-driven work, and a deep commitment to reproductive freedom advocacy from a DEI and organizational-health perspective.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 8 years of professional experience with increasing responsibility
- Experience creating, implementing, or directly supporting values-driven work, including diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in organizational settings
- Knowledge of data collection systems used for surveys and data collection and analysis
- Strong management and interpersonal skills with experience in developing and mentoring staff
- Strong operations, project management, and event planning skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Keen attention to detail and the ability to proofread final products and the written products of others
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and responsibilities
- Experience in or demonstrated ability with conflict resolution
- Demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with others within the department and across the organization
- High emotional intelligence and self-awareness
- Knowledge of learning and development systems like ACORN
- A personal passion and demonstrated commitment to the organization’s mission and an understanding of the reproductive freedom issue
- High cultural competence and the desire to engage with individuals with differing lived experiences
- A commitment to creating a workplace environment in which diversity is valued and supported and a demonstrated ability to support others in doing the same
