Director of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction)

Job Summary
Direct and lead EPC efforts for a large-scale recycling/manufacturing facility from FEED through commissioning, including defining equipment specifications, procuring engineering services, overseeing EPC design and pre-construction planning, navigating permitting processes, and ensuring EHS compliance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and EPC partners to optimize processes, manage budgets, schedules, and site execution. Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team, develop training programs, and drive continuous process improvements while maintaining strong communication across stakeholders. Expect 20%-40% travel or site management, up to 90% during commissioning.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years in engineering roles within material processing or chemical manufacturing industries
- Experience with large-scale EPC projects and managing budgets, scope, and timelines
- Bachelor or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Proven track record in engineering design, EHS, permit applications, construction, and commissioning of manufacturing facilities
- Knowledge of chemical industry, chemical engineering equipment, EPC collaboration, and sustainable engineering practices
- Experience with processing equipment selection, especially for powder and dust handling devices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and program management abilities
- Experience with MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization
- Travel up to 20-40% including commissioning phases
