Job Summary
Director of Environmental Services leads all phases of building maintenance, grounds keeping, and maintenance of company vehicles and equipment. The role emphasizes service-oriented leadership, timely and high-quality work, adherence to safety and infection-control policies, and collaboration with Otterbein’s leadership and Quality Improvement efforts to support residents and partners. Responsibilities include reviewing and prioritizing maintenance work orders, procuring supplies, monitoring quality, budgeting, planning repairs and overhauls using blueprints and manufacturer specifications, repairing and installing pumps and motors, calibrating systems, maintaining gauges and environmental readings, completing grounds maintenance, snow removal, water/wastewater treatment, and supporting safety committees. The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid Ohio driver’s license (chemical application license preferred), and knowledge of building construction, plumbing, electrical work, and grounds maintenance; strong detail, writing, documentation, and interpersonal skills; and the ability to read blueprints. Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Licensure/Certification: Valid Ohio Driver’s License and prefer chemical application license
- Experience: Knowledge of building construction, plumbing, electrical wiring, vehicle and equipment repair, painting and grounds keeping
- Skills: Must be detailed oriented and have excellent literacy and writing, documentation, communications and interpersonal abilities. Must be able to use tools and equipment required. Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
