Job Summary
Plan, organize, and direct overall operations of the Environmental Services department, including housekeeping and laundry services. Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise staff while developing cleaning schedules and policies in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Conduct routine inspections of resident rooms, common areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure infection control standards are met. Manage department budgets, order supplies, and ensure compliance with OSHA, CDC, and facility guidelines. Partner with Administration, Nursing, and Maintenance leadership to address facility needs and resolve resident concerns. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 2-3 years of experience in Environmental Services or Housekeeping management, and ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Environmental Services, Housekeeping, or Laundry management, preferably in a long-term care or healthcare setting
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of infection control practices, OSHA standards, and state/federal regulations governing long-term care facilities
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment, floor care, and laundry operations
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage budgets, inventories, and staffing schedules effectively
- Proficient in basic computer applications, including email, scheduling, and inventory systems
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, and respond to facility needs as required
