Job Summary
Lead the Environmental Services Group by developing its vision, managing workload and schedules, and expanding service offerings through talent acquisition and partnerships. Identify future project opportunities, prepare technical proposals and fee estimates, and collaborate with project managers to ensure timely delivery. Manage quality of work, track project budgets, mentor staff, and coordinate industry representation. Communicate with clients on project logistics and status while securing projects from varied clients. Requires ten years of experience in environmental consulting, specifically supporting transportation and land development projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Geology, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Ten or more years of experience in the environmental sector, preferably within the AEC consulting industry, supporting Transportation and/or Land Development projects
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to communicate clearly through written and verbal communication
- Proven ability preparing and presenting technical information to varied audiences
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and fulfill commitments related to project deadlines
- Thorough understanding of federal, state, municipal, and watershed district environmental regulatory programs, including NPDES, Wetland Conservation Act, MNDNR Public Waters, and Section 404 & 401 permitting
- Thorough understanding of NEPA and MEPA requirements for Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), Environmental Assessments (EA and EAW), Alternative Urban Areawide Reviews (AUAR), and Categorical Exclusions (CATEX)
- Experience working closely with owner, regulatory agencies, and contractor staff on active construction projects
- Proven track record preparing proposals, marketing, and successfully securing projects from varied clients
- Experience working with transportation and/or land development projects
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with any of the following facets of environmental protection and their associated permitting requirements: SWPPP design for NPDES permitting including preparing erosion and sediment control and turf establishment plans
- Experience with any of the following facets of environmental protection and their associated permitting requirements: Wetland delineation, mitigation, and permitting. Wetland and stream restoration and wetland banking
- Experience with any of the following facets of environmental protection and their associated permitting requirements: NEPA and MEPA environmental documentation
- Experience with any of the following facets of environmental protection and their associated permitting requirements: Threatened and endangered species surveys
- Experience with any of the following facets of environmental protection and their associated permitting requirements: Vegetation and habitat assessment surveys
- Experience with any of the following facets of environmental protection and their associated permitting requirements: Contaminated materials management, including contaminated groundwater dewatering, and asbestos and regulated materials disposal
- Experience with any of the following facets of environmental protection and their associated permitting requirements: Erosion and Stormwater Construction Site Management and/or Designer of SWPPP Certification
- Experience with any of the following facets of environmental protection and their associated permitting requirements: Wetland Delineator certification, preferably in Minnesota
