Job Summary
Develop and execute a multi-year EHS roadmap that aligns with corporate goals while overseeing all safety functions across six manufacturing and mining sites. Lead a core corporate team, providing strategic oversight and technical support to site-level professionals, and manage industrial hygiene programs to monitor and improve safety standards. Direct environmental permitting processes at State and Federal levels, including Title V Air, Mining, and NPDES Water permits, while maintaining compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and EPA regulations. Conduct incident investigations using Root Cause Analysis, champion holistic worker health initiatives, and establish engagement plans with surrounding communities. Serve as the primary EHS liaison to persuade leadership, negotiate with external partners, and present risk profiles to Senior Leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- required minimum of 10 years of progressive EHS leadership experience in an industrial environment
- Demonstrated experience in Mining (MSHA) and/or Manufacturing (OSHA)
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in both
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex environmental permits and maintaining positive relationships with state and federal regulatory agencies
- Proven ability to lead and influence teams across multiple geographic locations
- Experience selecting, deploying, and managing enterprise EHS software platforms (e.g., Velocity, Enablon, Intelex) and leveraging predictive safety technologies (e.g., data analytics, leading indicator tracking, or safety wearables)
- Developing and maintaining Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Emergency Action Plans (EAP) that align with the broader business goals
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without need for employer-sponsored visa (work permit)
