Job Summary
Director of Engineering responsible for leading distributed backend teams to design, build, and deploy scalable cloud-based financial services solutions. Drive the technical roadmap, reliability and observability, debt management, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality products. Manage engineering practices, mentor engineers, contribute to strategic planning, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders to align engineering outcomes with business goals.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- at least 2 years in a leadership role within a high-growth technology company
- Experience with distributed systems
- Operational Excellence including SRE principles, cloud cost governance, and lifecycle management of complex platforms
- Problem-Solving skills and adaptability
- Culture fit with company values and collaboration emphasis
- Technical stack familiarity: Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, AWS (EKS, S3, SNS, SQS, KMS), PostgreSQL, Kafka, Airflow, GitLab, Grafana, Loki
