Job Summary
Director of Engineering oversees all aspects of the performance and operation of the Engineering Division of the hotel as well as the overall management and operational aspect of the Engineering Department. This role ensures proper training and supervision of Engineering personnel, manages preventive maintenance programs, prioritizes service requests, monitors expenses, and maintains guest satisfaction and safety. Requires scheduling, documentation, compliance, and effective supervision of staff, with emphasis on guest service, SOPs, and loss prevention. Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays under pressure and in busy periods.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Trade, Vocational Certificate and/or college course work in related field a plus
- Minimum of ten (10) years in a hotel maintenance type position
- Basic understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry concepts required
- Previous construction or hotel maintenance department lead or supervisory experience a must
