Job Summary
Director of Engineering & Technology is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and guiding engineering strategy, delivery excellence, and AI-driven innovation across Artic Consulting’s Azure-focused client projects. The role leads multiple engineering teams, grows engineering capacity from 20 to 150 engineers within three years, oversees Azure-based consulting engagements, champions AI/GenAI adoption, ensures client satisfaction and budget adherence, collaborates with business development on presales for opportunities based in the United States, and drives operational efficiency, cost management, and incident reduction through process improvements. The director collaborates to design and estimate solutions, establishes architecture standards and governance, and mentors senior engineers and engineering leadership while maintaining a strong client-facing consulting presence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master's degree in engineering, or related field
- 14+ years of experience in building and scaling enterprise software platforms
- 5–6+ years in senior engineering leadership roles
- Proven experience managing large engineering organizations (20–40+ engineers)
- Track record of delivering cloud-based, large-scale systems in production environments
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar delivery tracking tools
- Certifications in Azure, cloud architecture, DevOps, or AI technologies
- Experience driving operational metrics (uptime, MTTR, deployment efficiency)
- Experience working directly with enterprise clients in delivery and advisory roles
- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
- Exposure to partner enablement and technical readiness programs
- Experience leading multiple engineering teams and managers at scale
- 14+ years of experience in building and scaling enterprise software platforms
- Knowledge of microservices, distributed systems, data platforms, data lakehouse, AI-driven product development
