Job Summary
The Director of Engineering is responsible for providing strategic direction and technical leadership for engineering activities within the SOF GLSS 2 Program. This role includes overseeing system design, integration, and compliance with contract requirements, while collaborating with management and stakeholders to ensure mission alignment. The Director will implement engineering processes for continuous improvement, serve as the technical authority for design decisions, and manage engineering rigor for technical reviews. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and over 10 years of relevant experience in defense programs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related field)
- 10+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles supporting defense or government programs
- Demonstrated success managing complex technical projects and multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, lifecycle management, and quality assurance standards
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Active Secret clearance required; Top Secret preferred
Desired Qualifications
- PMP or INCOSE certification
- Experience supporting USSOCOM, Army, or major acquisition programs
- Proficiency in engineering tools and platforms such as MATLAB, SolidWorks, DOORS, or equivalent
