Job Summary
Director of Engineering oversees facility engineering and maintenance operations for State Farm Arena and Atlanta Hawks, leading a team including the Chief Engineer and Sr. Maintenance Manager; responsible for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, water treatment, controls, and building automation; ensures compliance with codes and safety standards, manages vendor relationships and service contracts, and leads capital projects and emergency response; collaborates with events and operations teams to support game plans and guest experiences; requires a Bachelor's degree and significant facilities engineering leadership experience; preferred certifications include CEM, CPM, OSHA.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience: Significant progressive experience in facilities engineering and maintenance leadership, including managing teams and contractors
- Skills: Strong technical knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, controls), leadership, communication, budget and vendor management, and project management capability
- Preferred Certifications: CEM, CPM, or OSHA or safety certifications as applicable
